Cranberry Juice Yeast Infection

Cranberry Juice Yeast Infection

Cranberry Juice Yeast InfectionFungus is the normal inhabitant of our body and is mainly present in the genital tract of humans. About 75% of the women population suffer from Candida yeast infection, and 20 to 50% of women need to undergo treatment for such yeast infection for their entire life. Although women are more prone to Candida infections, men also become victims of this infection as well. One of the home remedies for such infection is the juice extracted from cranberries. Using the cranberry juice yeast infection treatment, one can have a better chance of keeping a yeast infection away.

What Causes a Yeast infection?

– The main causes of yeast infection occurring in women or men are when:

– Taking strong antibiotics, or taking them for a long periods of time

– Diabetes

– Weaken immunity of the body

– Poor hygiene

When the acidity level in the vaginal area of a woman gets lowered, they become more prone to yeast infection. As the acidity levels go down, the yeast multiplies very quickly. Thus the overabundance of yeast causes many abnormalities in our body and the infection is caused in the genital area. Such infections are in most of the cases self-limiting, but in some rare cases it may worsen as it involves mainly the private parts of the women’s body, and they might feel embarrassed discussing it with someone or a doctor. So they mostly prefer the natural and home remedies. In which case, using cranberry juice yeast infection treatment can be very effective.
Cranberry has been observed to reduce the effect of several infections such as those caused by Escherichia coli. The ability of cranberry to hinder the growth of notorious bacteria has still not been studied thoroughly, which are actually responsible for causing many infections of the skin, mouth, and respiratory system.

Why is Cranberry Juice Beneficial?

Cranberry juice as mentioned earlier is one of the natural remedies that can be used in home easily. Drinking cranberry juice can also increase the acidity level of the genital area, as the acid content of cranberry is high. The normal pH level of the body is normalised if anyone drinks cranberry juice 2 to 3 times in a day. There should not be any ‘added sugar’ in the cranberry juice. The juice should be consumed unsweetened because sugar feeds the yeast cells which can multiple quickly. Drinking cranberry juice can give us a healthier and yeast-free lifestyle.

Cranberry Juice Yeast Infection

A 2011 study in the ‘Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry’ looked at the effects of cranberry integrated broth with a minimum concentration of 1 μg/mL on the Candida species. It was discovered that the cranberry broth had strongly reduced the growth of 4 Candida species including: Candida lusitaniae, Candida glabrata, Candida Krusei and Cryptococcus, as well as Cryptococcus neoformans. The study adequately reflects that cranberry’s act as antifungal agents which can help eradicate or diminish the effect of Candida yeast.

In the ‘Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy’ there was another study about the effectiveness of cranberry’s in preventing Candida albicans. It also found that nosocomial urinary tract infection is caused by Candida albicans which had resulted in increased medication costs in some patients, so there was a urgent requirement for the solution to this infection. The biofilms of this yeast was coagulated with cranberry in faux urine and the metabolic activity was examined using the XTT ‘cell viability assay’ in silicone disc models and static microplate. When cranberry was supplemented with iron, it decreased the efficacy of cranberry PAC. The cranberry juice derived proanthocyanidin with a concentration of >16mg/L showed a reduction of the biofilm of Candida albicans adherence in the samples of both polystyrene and silicone. Under the microscope, the growth of Candida albicans decreased as the concentration of cranberry juice increased. (See samples below)

As shown in biofilms samples, the higher the concentration of cranberry juice, the lesser the amount of Candida growth. From the samples tested, it was clear that the concentration of 1024 mg/L of cranberry juice had shown the best results.

The finding of this study proved that cranberry juice can be effective in assisting to fight off Candida yeast infections. However, it’s important to drink pure cranberry juice rather than diluted juices, as the concentration of cranberry’s in pure juices will be higher, which will benefit the drinker with its antifungal properties more. Another interesting finding of the study was that the use of ‘iron supplements’ had shown an increased growth of the Candida albican species in patients, so it is advisable to stop the intake of iron supplements whilst treating a yeast infection. But if you are taking iron supplement medication and are suffering from a yeast infection, then please seek advice from your local doctor.

Along with cranberry juice yeast infection can be prevented if our diet plan is modified and it will contain fewer amounts of carbohydrates, caffeine, and yeast included substances like bakes and breads and other sugary products. As these foods can increase the level of the fungus in our body and can lead to yeast infection.

Treatment with Cranberry Juice:

Along with yeast infection, cranberry juice can effectively cure the problems of the urinary and genital tract. The yeast and bacteria cannot climb and cling to the mucous membranes of the urinary and genital tract, mouth and stomach. The pH levels of the urine can also be balanced if cranberry juice is taken regularly, and thus by drinking cranberry juice yeast infection can be easily prevented because it will prevent the pH levels from getting to high in Alkaline, and thus the fungus will not be able to grow. Even cranberry pills are readily available in the medical stores. They will have the same benefits like that of drinking cranberry juices.

Whenever you eliminate the sugary foods from your diet, including foods like: cakes, cookies, bakes etc. the body starts detoxifying. When this detoxification takes place in your body, a Herxheimer reaction takes place that is basically a condition of ‘Candida die-off’ and in such condition you may not feel better than before. The body will eliminate all those ingredients which are toxic in nature along with the dead yeast and bacteria that had accumulated in the body for a very long time. But, taking the cranberry juice yeast infection treatment can reduce the side effects of Candida die-off in the body. Waste materials are also efficiently thrown out of the body as the kidneys and liver also cleanse out. The Candida die-off process in known as the purging process, and such a process has some side effects like nausea, spots on the skin, fever, headaches and chills. But such conditions are temporary and it is an indication that the body has started healing and the yeast infection will go. During such a period drinking plenty of water is a good idea; along with keeping the cranberry juice yeast infection treatment on-going is equally important, so that the body can keep up with the Candida die-off. Overall, with the use of cranberry juice yeast infection can be prevented, but along with that, avoiding surgery foods and regular exercise is also very important.
